The city of Milwaukee is sponsoring the 11th annual Milwaukee Child Health Week from August 12-19. The back-to-school family health fairs consist of “Big Health Fairs,” in which Milwaukee children receive free screenings, immunizations and/or lead testing. Children who show up-to-date shot records will receive a backpack and school supplies. Meanwhile, parents can get WIC, BadgerCare Plus and FoodShare information along with advice on health topics such as asthma and diabetes. “Mini Health Fairs” offer free immunizations and lead tests. Parents will be able to look up their children’s records for immunizations and lead tests on site.
