The 4-H SySTEMatics Science Fair and Recognition Ceremony will be held Thursday, May 29th at the MATC Education Center at Walker Square, 816 W National Ave. 4-H SySTEMatics and other 4-H programming is offered through the Milwaukee County Cooperative Extension office.
This year 140 youth participated in 4-H SySTEMatics.
4-H SySTEMatics provides City of Milwaukee 7th and 8th grade youth with the opportunity to achieve mastery in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by challenging students to exercise their minds and utilize the knowledge they have gained in school while forging new skills and becoming familiar with post-secondary education options. This is the 4th year for the 4-H STEM program.
Students will showcase the science or engineering experiments they developed independently during the Science Fair from 4:00-5:30 PM. They will explain their projects to a judge who will score their work and present them with the appropriate 4-H Ribbon.
A Recognition Ceremony will be held from 6:00—7:00 PM to allow families and community members to celebrate the accomplishments of the 4-H SySTEMatics youth over the past semester.
The public is welcome to attend to view the science fair displays, talk to the youth about their projects and experience in the program and celebrate their accomplishments.
