Emergency fundraiser hopes to give Bradley Tech students trip of a lifetime

Have you ever wondered what it takes to change the life of an inner city kid? My name is Elizabeth Fincher and I am a teacher at Bradley Tech High School. I am determined to help see the lives of our most needy kids changed for the positive!

Our goal is to raise $20,000 in 20 days!

Bradley Tech High School students have the opportunity of a lifetime, but that opportunity may not come true without your help! All year long we have been raising money to send 12 students on an international trip to Ireland, Wales, England, and France. Recently, an anonymous donor fell through leaving our students with an unrealistic and overwhelming amount to raise. By Friday, February 27th, the already extended deadline will arrive. If at this time, student balances are not paid off, they will have lost all the monies they worked all year to raise. The money contributed by friends and family will go down the drain along with their opportunity to move from “block view” to “world view”.

With their hopes so high and with the vision nearly shattered, we are hoping that if financially possible, you may find it in your heart to help lift the spirits of these inner city students. Time and time again, they are set up to be let down. Help us prove to them that hard work does indeed pay off and that no dream is too big. The group of students that are signed up to attend are among the top achievers at Bradley Tech High School. They have risen to high standards and have truly exhibited excellence in areas beyond the classroom. They are leaders in every way and will one day, without question, make a positive difference in our world.

If you’d like to sponsor these young scholars, you can do so by donating to our general fund (http://www.gofundme.com/btglobetrotters).

If I am accused of anything, like Lena Younger in “Raisin in the Sun”, it is that I “aimed too high”, but I still believe in miracles!

Sincerely,

Ms. Elizabeth Fincher, English Teacher

I know a few of these kids. They are truly the best of the best! If you want to help kids who deserve this experience, and kids who have overcome a lot of hardship and struggle to get here, please consider donating!
