HEDC is excited to announce the completion of the Havenwoods Community documentary. Beginning on July 13th HEDC will release the first of seven short documentaries with each telling a unique story in Havenwoods. Watch as we release a new story every Monday via email starting on July 13th through August 24th .
With the Havenwoods community as their backdrop, these short productions walk the viewer through personal stories from residents, children and businesses as they thrive in Havenwoods. The Havenwoods mini documentary is a celebration of a growing neighborhood featuring the assets that make Milwaukee stronger.
“So many of us drive through neighborhoods with only our destination in mind. This is a chance to get an insider’s look at a Milwaukee neighborhood and all its humanity. It is our hope that when those unfamiliar with the Havenwoods community view these short documentaries they will develop a deeper understanding of what the community has to offer.” –said Stephanie Harling of Havenwoods Economic Development Corporation.
This project was made possible through a grant from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation, sponsorships from Monarch Corporation, Prestige Auto Works, Walther’s Trains and the Havenwoods Business Improvement District. This documentary was produced by Doc UW-Milwaukee film school.
The Havenwoods community is located on the City of Milwaukee’s far northwest side. Havenwoods boundaries are N. 43rd St. to N. 76th St. and W. Silver Spring Drive to W. Good Hope Road.
