The Harambee Great Neighborhood Initiative & the Rose Park Sunday Softball League will host a Home Run Derby and Sunday League All-Star Game on National Night Out, Tuesday August 4th at 7pm at Clinton & Bernice Rose Park.
This event is also a Bronzeville Week activity and seeks to provide a space where the community can get to know each other during a fun and safe activity, to highlight the rich cultural and athletic history and happenings of the Bronzeville and Harambee neighborhoods and to foster better relations between police and fire departments and community members, in order to decrease crime.
Entry to the home run derby will cost $10 and the winner will take-all. The all-star game will begin immediately follow the home run derby. The lights around the field will come on around sundown.
