Lydia Centeno, who is the youngest of four girls, learned a lot from her older sisters — family was important to her. In 1988, her next youngest sister was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Centeno helped care for her sister in the family home. “Once she came back home to live with us, it was good; she was good.”
