MKE Black Restaurant Week showcases local eateries

The first Milwaukee Black Restaurant Week is running from April 17-23, sponsored by Blank Space MKE. More than 25 restaurants are participating in the citywide celebration of black-owned restaurants to help food enthusiasts from around the city find new places to dine. No coupons are needed and each restaurant has its own specials.

    Just stopped at Jizzles on Burleigh yesterday to say hello to Jarvis, the owner, and get one of the best turkey burgers in town. Plan on stopping by a few more this week…including Daddy’s – great fish; Coffee Makes You Black – sweet Mango tea; A Chick and a Skillet – best yams and can’t forget Speed Queen BBQ – no explanation of what to get there.
