Using photography, illustration and mixed media, student artists at Arts @ Large have created an exhibit that employs art as a tool for social activism. Among the topics explored are the stories of female first-generation immigrants; influential women from around the globe; and local survivors of gender-based violence and human trafficking.
The exhibit, which runs through Sept. 30, is at the Arts @ Large gallery, 908 S. 5th St. The project was created in part by Arts @ Large’s Serve2Unite Student Leadership Chapters.
Arts & Large provides local schools with services that include teacher and artist training, and research excursions to museums, organizations and higher education institutions in the Milwaukee area.Did you like this story? Subscribe to NNS today.
