Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II invites all interested high school seniors or recent graduates to apply for the Fire and Police Commission’s Police Aide and Fire Cadet Programs. The applications are open until this Friday, December 2, 2016.
Both programs are paid, full-time apprenticeships beginning in the summer of 2017. After successful completion of the two-year program, Fire Cadets advance to the next recruit class for Firefighters, and Police Aides advance to the recruit class of Police Officer upon reaching 21 years of age.
“These programs are great opportunities for high school seniors or recent graduates to jumpstart their careers,” Alderman Stamper said. “Learning from the accomplished members of Milwaukee’s Fire and Police Departments is certainly a valuable path for entering the workforce.”
