Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs invites residents to a job fair at the Milwaukee Enterprise Center, 2821 N. 4th St., on Wednesday, April 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This event will provide information about jobs for concrete masons, iron workers, carpenters, electricians and HVAC professionals interested in working on the Welford Sanders Historic Lofts Redevelopment project.
Wisconsin Redevelopment, the non-profit Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation and Catalyst Construction are partnering to convert the former Nunn Bush Shoe Co. factory into a new office and apartment complex. This project, the redevelopment of King Drive Commons, brings the vision of the late Welford Sanders to life, and the completion of the Welford Sanders Historic Lofts will be an important step.
“I strongly encourage all job seekers interested in construction and renovation to attend the Welford Sanders Historic Lofts Redevelopment job fair,” Alderwoman Coggs said. “This project is a great sign of economic progress for MLK Drive and will provide excellent opportunities for local workers.”
