The Wisconsin Bike Federation’s Milwaukee Mobile Bike Repair program practices what it preaches. We have two Bullitt cargo bikes that are loaded up with tools and parts and go to community spaces where we offer free bike fixes to anyone who shows up with a bike that needs some love.
The staff consists of two master mechanics and six high school youth. We train the youth on basic repairs in the spring and then give them summer jobs working on our repair teams. One is based at North Division High School and serves the near North Side of Milwaukee (53206, 53208, 53212) and the other is based at the Wisconsin Bike Federation office and serves the 53215 and 53202 ZIP codes.
