Due to a technical problem, some votes for the MANDI People’s Choice Awards cast on the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service website were not recorded. The problem has been fixed.
You may have cast your vote at a time when the system was not working properly. When you vote now, one of two things will happen:
- You will get a message that says “People’s Choice Vote Confirmation” or
- You’ll get a message at the top in red type that says, “There was a problem with your submission.” That means that your original vote was already recorded.
In either case you have successfully cast your vote.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” said Sharon McGowan, NNS editor. “We hope that Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service readers and other community members will take a few minutes to vote again for their favorite organizations or individuals. The MANDI finalists have all made significant contributions to the community, and the Wells Fargo People’s Choice award recognition means a great deal to them.”
Added McGowan, “There are six voting days left, and we are confident that the totals will accurately reflect the ‘people’s choice.’”
Voting will continue until 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 14.
MANDI finalists in six categories are selected by a volunteer committee, based on public nominations. A panel of judges visits each finalist’s site and votes on the winners.
The People’s Choice Awards are chosen by popular vote. Three winners each will receive $1,000.
All winners will be announced at a dinner on Thursday, March 15, at the Potawatomi Event Center, 1611 W. Canal St.
