The City of Milwaukee’s Earn & Learn Summer Youth Internship Program offers excellent paid work opportunities for youths between the ages of 16 (as of June 1, 2018) and 19 years old.
SYIP interns are placed in a city department such as Fire, Library, Neighborhood Services, Office of the Mayor, Administration, Common Council – City Clerk, Public Works, Assessor, Health, Port, or City Development for eight weeks. While working they receive mentoring and excellent experience in various tasks and assignments.
The interns earn $8.75 per hour and work Monday through Friday — 20 hours per week. The program starts June 7 and ends August 3.
