On Wednesday, May 2, more than 100 Kohl’s facility managers met at Penfield Montessori to donate their time and talents to renovate the school. Projects included painting, light installation, repairing walls, constructing storage shelving, creating a breastfeeding room for staff and families, and restoring the school’s entrance on Cherry Street.
In addition, Kohl’s Wild Theater, a partnership between Kohl’s Cares and the Milwaukee County Zoo, performed for our students and taught about animals and conservation. After, staff helped students with planting projects and creating crafts that promote recycling.
In 2017, Kohl’s associates contributed nearly 850 total volunteer hours at Penfield Children’s Center and Penfield Montessori Academy, resulting in more than $27,000 in grants.
Penfield Montessori Academy is a public Montessori school in Milwaukee that offers classes starting at K3. They foster an inclusive environment in which children of all abilities can flourish together in multi-age classrooms.Did you like this story? Subscribe to NNS today.
