Marquette University hosts Community Discussion: Civil Rights in Milwaukee Since the Time of Dr. King

On Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 4 to 6 p.m., hear from multiple generations of Milwaukee activists on the impact of the civil rights movement on our city from the 1960s to today. The event will take place in Raynor Memorial Libraries, 1355 W. Wisconsin Ave. The event will include Willie Lloyd, NAACP Youth Council Member from the 1960s connected to the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee; Sharlen Moore, Urban Underground; David Muhammad, Milwaukee Office of Violence Prevention; Fred Read, NAACP Commando; and Fred Royal, Milwaukee NAACP. The event is free and open to the public.
