What is the Run for Justice?

The Run for Justice is a 5K run and 1K walk that takes place in Veteran’s Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront.  This event is an important fundraiser for the Milwaukee Justice Center and a good race course with an even better post-run party. In the last six years, the Run for Justice has raised nearly $55,000 to help provide free legal help to Milwaukee County residents who were facing our court system on their own.

What is the Milwaukee Justice Center?

The Milwaukee Justice Center is a collaborative project between the Milwaukee Bar Association, Milwaukee County, and Marquette University Law School. The underlying philosophy of the project is that self-represented litigants have a fundamental right to access the justice system even if they cannot afford an attorney or do not qualify for legal aid.  In 2016, the MJC served almost 10,000 clients in its clinics with services valued at over $1 million.

Register to race the 5K or do the 1K walk at the event.  http://milwaukee.gov/MJC/MJC5K-Run Organizations are encouraged to set up teams!
