Between the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network’s Beyond the Canvas exhibition on Friday night, Oct. 21, and the Día de los Muertos exhibitions at Walker’s Point Center for the Arts on Saturday, Oct. 22, Milwaukee residents had an opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of artwork by local artists.
Artists displaying at the Beyond the Canvas exhibition took inspiration from the rejuvenation of the Menomonee Valley. Gallery Night took place at Zimmerman Architectural Studios, a space that housed the Retort Building at the turn of the 20th century.
The 19th annual Día de los Muertos exhibit at the Walker’s Point Center for the Arts featured ofrendas (altars/offerings) created by local artists from a variety of backgrounds.
