LISC Milwaukee is seeking a Program Officer to coordinate and support safety initiatives in select Milwaukee neighborhoods.  This new position is one aspect of the partnership between LISC and Milwaukee Police Department (MPD).  The goal of this partnership is to work in partnership with City agencies and community organizations to integrate the varied resources and tools of law enforcement, community mobilization and economic development to make neighborhoods safer and more vital.

MPD and LISC will jointly fund and manage this position. The ideal candidate will be someone who has knowledge of the resources and key individuals within the MPD, as well as an intimate knowledge of the community improvement activities being implemented by LISC’s neighborhood development partners.

The successful candidate for this position should be a self-directed, independent professional familiar with community development and/or community safety programming.  He or she will have at least a bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience.
