The City of Milwaukee Tobacco-Free Alliance’s FACT group of youth engaged in tobacco prevention, housed out of Neulife Community Development, visited Hayat Pharmacy on 1919 W North Ave. with cards thanking them for not selling tobacco. FACT youth urge holiday shoppers to consider which stores support the community by refusing to sell tobacco products.

Tobacco use is the number one preventable cause of death in the United States, killing 480,000 Americans each year. More than 5 million kids alive today will die prematurely from smoking unless we take action now to prevent it. Responsible retailers can help save lives and create a tobacco-free generation by choosing not to sell tobacco products. Consumers can support them by shopping tobacco-free.

Share stories and pictures about other tobacco-free stores at #shoptobaccofree on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter. You can also find tobacco-free stores near you at shoptobaccofree.org.
