“Dominic’s Blue”

“Dominic’s Blue” is the inspiration of a brave little boy who passed away last week on our 2800 block of N. 75th Street in Enderis Park. He was only six. Dominic’s Blue is the unity of a neighborhood when faced with sadness and disbelief.

We asked ourselves; “What can we do for the family?” “How does a neighborhood come together to show support?”

Blue was his favorite color. So, two neighbors thought about shining a blue light in front of their house. A bright blue light at night. A light that represents not only the support of a neighborhood but the light of a small child. It didn’t take much. Knocking on neighbors doors, a few phone calls to the hardware store, a ladder, screw drivers and a bag of blue lamp lights.

One bulb at a time, we lit up the block! As a member of this neighborhood, I personally invite you to drive through, walk your dog, think about what one small blue light can mean to a community. For us, we hope the family knows we keep them in our thoughts and prayers during this time of reflection.

We hope that Dominic’s Blue light is a reminder that life is precious. That neighbors really do care. May whom ever reads this be inspired to reach out to others, you never know who’s heart you will touch.

I think the tribute for Dominic was a wonderful thing from neighbors who care. We are neighbors of Margaret & Randy in Lakeland, Florida & our hearts & prayers are with the family of little Dominic. God must have a special place in haven for him to have taken him so young. Our only hope is that they will be with him again one day.

What a beautiful gesture to honor Dominics life. He was a beautiful little boy with a smile that lite up his face. Yes, life is precious.

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful boy. We are friends of Dominics grandparents in Michigan and know that the family had to be touched by what their neighborhood did for their little boy. God bless you all !!
