When the Design Like Mad event comes to Milwaukee for the first time, teams of designers will collaborate to give several local charities a facelift, including new logos, websites and other key marketing materials.
The first Design Like Mad event was held in Madison in 2013, and it brought together over 70 designers and developers who collaborated on design projects for 20 different Madisonarea nonprofits.
The first Milwaukee design marathon will be held from 8am to 9pm at the Milwaukee Public Library’s Central Branch on May 2nd.
“Great design has the power to break through the clutter and make people pay attention, and these organizations are certainly worthy of more attention,” said Lydia Jarvis, the local organizer of Design Like Mad. “This event will build a stronger design community in Milwaukee, and also empower these great organizations to continue building a stronger community overall.”
Any designer or nonprofit can apply for a spot at www.designlikemadmke.org.
The deadline to apply is April 3rd, and the final participants will be announced April 17th.
