The Center Street Marketplace Business Improvement District (BID) 39 is a very resilient business district, and community, initiating new activities to revitalize the area. BID 39’s approach is to work hard, and smart, making small incremental changes that will have a true, substantial economic impact over the long-term.

A clean and safe business district is critical to a positive perception so that customers will shop at the businesses located on Center Street. BID 39 conducted an early street & sidewalk clean-up recently on Saturday March 28th focusing on a section of the large business district. The intent was to get a head start on the Great American Clean-up this Saturday, April 18 at 9:45am (it starts on 51st & Center at St. Catherine’s church). BID 39 is co-sponsoring the Historical Annual Clean-up on May 1st with Washington High School and Sherman Park Community Association. Business owners, residents, local community organizations, and other stakeholders have been invited, and are being recruited, to assist in the various awesome revitalization efforts.

A few other projects Center Street BID 39 is working on are the following:

BID 39 has been assessing and surveying the area to better understand what is needed and wanted for the business district – more specifically to recruit new and diverse types of businesses to fill vacant commercial properties on Center Street. A promotional brochure and other marketing materials are being developed.

BID 39 is currently asking the public what kinds of new businesses they want to see on Center Street. The public can complete a short five question survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6FBY8PZ

In addition, Center Street BID 39 is looking for volunteers to assist with new committees that will focus on a variety of areas: administration & fundraising; marketing & events; beautification & safety; and working with real estate, businesses, & entrepreneurship. Please do not miss BID 39’s Community Kick- off Event & Volunteer Training is on April 25th at 11am. At location: 2741 W. Fond du Lac Ave., 53210.

Center Street BID is developing a “Buy Local” strategy encouraging residents to spend their dollars with local businesses. This includes using a broad array of marketing tactics and strategies.

Lastly, BID 39 will have Board of Directors & volunteer training and development to assure the team is strong and focused on accomplishing its mission and vision for the business district and community!

For more information, and/or to confirm that you will be volunteering, please contact:
