Five future She-E-Os will pitch their business ideas for a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship during the first-ever Future She-E-O Contest on April 21 at Marquette University, sponsored by Milwaukee-based tween lifestyle company, Fashion Angels.
In conjunction with the brand’s It’s My Biz line of activity kits for tweens, the Future She-E-O Contest gives girls ages 9 to 12 the tools to follow their entrepreneurial dreams with knowledge and confidence that they can run a business now and in the future.
“We are excited to see our mission of empowering young girls to believe in themselves brought to life through the Future She-E-O Contest,” said Chris Dresselhuys, vice president of marketing and licensing for Fashion Angels Enterprises.
During the Future She-E-O competition, each of the five finalists chosen from a national call for submissions will present their business idea to a panel of female business owners. Entries will be judged on demonstration of business, originality and storyline. The grand-prize winner will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship for her college education.
The Future She-E-O contest will be held during the annual Marquette University ImpactNext event that brings entrepreneurs of all ages together to focus on the development of business models and fosters entrepreneurial spirit. The event is free and the public is welcome to attend.
Projects will be on display in the Marquette University Alumni Memorial Union Monaghan Ballrooms from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Presentations by the future She-E-Os begin at 6:45 p.m., with final awards presented at 8:45 p.m.
