Listen To Your Mother is a live show featuring a diverse cast of people from our own community reading personal stories from their motherhood journey in all its humor, heartbreak and everything in between.
Listen To Your Mother Show co-producer, Moth Grand Slam Champion and Huffington Post Blogger Alexandra Rosas says “Right now, our country and community are separated by so many things like race, religion and politics. But we’ve all got stories about motherhood whether we’re mothers or not. When we tell these stories and hear these stories, we’re bridging our differences and reminding each other of our common humanity.”
Humorist and author Ann Imig is the founder of Listen To Your Mother and inaugurated the first show in Madison, Wisconsin seven years ago. Today, there are now forty-one Listen To Your Mother Shows throughout the United States and Canada.
Each Listen To Your Mother Show selects a non-profit to partner to benefit from ten percent of show ticket sales; and to date, shows across the country have collectively raised over $80,000 for local non-profits.
Milwaukee’s Listen To Your Mother Show will benefit local The Parenting Network, a nonprofit whose mission is to prevent child abuse.
