Using photography, illustration and mixed media, student artists at Arts @ Large have created an exhibit that employs art as a tool for social activism. Among the topics explored are the stories of female first-generation immigrants; influential women from around the globe; and local survivors of gender-based violence and human trafficking.
The exhibit, which runs through Sept. 30, is at the Arts @ Large gallery, 908 S. 5th St. The project was created in part by Arts @ Large’s Serve2Unite Student Leadership Chapters.
Arts & Large provides local schools with services that include teacher and artist training, and research excursions to museums, organizations and higher education institutions in the Milwaukee area.
