Frigid temperatures and whipping winds did not stop community members from gathering at the Feast and Football event in Sherman Park on Saturday, Nov. 19. Safe & Sound, Sherman Park Association of Religious Communities and A Cry for Help Foundation organized the event, which was funded by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Reasons for Hope MKE fund.
With garbage cans marking the boundaries of the football field, Milwaukee police officers from Sherman Park, Amani, Midtown and Layton Boulevard played flag football with teens from around the city.
