BMO Harris Bank announced today that it plans to build a new branch at 3637 W. Fond Du Lac Ave., across the street from its current location at 3536 W. Fond Du Lac Ave. and right in the heart of the Sherman Park neighborhood.

As the member of the Milwaukee Common Council who represents that area, I want to extend gratitude to BMO Harris Bank on behalf of my neighbors and myself. BMO’s commitment to the neighborhood is evident in its decision to build a brand new, state-of-the-art banking facility that will allow residents to conveniently access important financial services.

BMO has been an important asset in our neighborhood since it acquired the current branch in 1959. Throughout the planning process for the new branch location, the BMO team has worked with the city and with neighbors to better serve our residents. Even now, they are partnering with local community groups to make redevelopment plans for the old building, which was built in 1927 and is a historic fixture on its block.

Thank you, BMO Harris Bank, for being such good neighbors and partners in promoting Sherman Park as a great place to live, and I look forward to the grand opening this fall.
