My Sistas KeepHer is seeking nominations and sponsors for its fourth annual F.I.R.E. (Females In Recognition of Excellence) Awards slated for the evening of Sunday, June 30, at Renaissance Place, 1451 N Prospect Ave.

Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized for her tireless work in the community? Maybe a young lady who is using her gift of dance, drawing, acting etc. to make her mark on Milwaukee (ART). Have you met someone who has overcome many obstacles and turned tragedy into triumph (PERSEVERANCE)? Nominate her on this form no later than April 21, 2019.

The Red Carpet event is designed to bring the community together to celebrate the amazing work being done by women in the following categories: ARTS. ENTREPRENEURSHIP, IMAGE, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, PERSEVERANCE and SISTAHOOD. One youth and one adult will be honored in each category. The event seeks to bridge the gap between youth and adult trailblazers and to inspire others as the honorees share their stories on stage.

My Sistas KeepHer’s mission is to encourage and inspire young girls to love themselves and each other through the art of positive self-expression. It uses poetry as a tool to show that when you stand and share your story in an empowering way, it not only heals you, but may heal someone else.
