Milwaukee will be at the center of the action as thousands of the nation’s most talented teenage public speakers arrive to compete in the National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament May 25 and 26.

This year, the annual competition is being hosted by the Milwaukee Catholic Forensic League with competition and tournament events at Marquette University, Milwaukee Area Technical College, the Miller High Life Theater, and several hotels in Downtown Milwaukee. Over 4,000 participants from across the country will be in attendance.

Qualifying high school students compete in three forms of debate as well as oratorical and performance events such as dramatic performance, extemporaneous speaking, and oral interpretation. Competition begins on Saturday, May 25, 2019, with final rounds Sunday, May 26, 2019.

The motto of the National Catholic Forensic League is “Leadership through Speech”. To that end, students and coaches will be working on their annual service project benefiting Milwaukee’s PATHFINDERS, an organization bringing hope and healing to youth in crisis.
