1. Holiday Floral Show at The Domes: Now until Jan. 3
Come see poinsettias, amaryllis, single stem white mums (resembling snow balls), snow white pop mums and cyclamen at the Mitchell Park Domes’ Holiday Floral Show. The exhibit runs until Jan. 3 when The Domes are open. Holiday hours can be found here. The Mitchell Park Domes are located at 524 S. Layton Blvd.
2. Winter Solstice Adult Candlelight Walk: Tuesday, Dec. 21
Celebrate the Winter Solstice with the Urban Ecology Center by going on a walk in Riverside Park. Walks leave every 30 minutes, beginning at 4 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 21. The event takes place at the Urban Ecology Center’s Riverside location at 1500 E. Park Place. This event is for adults.
3. Learn words in a new language: Wednesday, Dec. 22
Every Wednesday, Triciclo Perú, a Peruvian restaurant, offers an opportunity to learn or practice a new language. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22. Triciclo Perú staff will facilitate conversations at 3801 W. Vliet St.
4. The Winter Snow-Down Festival: Begins Thursday, Dec. 23
MA’RUF Center for Youth Innovation hosts a series of events for its “Winter Snow-Down Festival,” starting with a dodgeball tournament from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23 at 2110 W. Hampton Ave. See the full list of events and RSVP here.
5. RBG Gift Must 2021: Friday, Dec. 24
Program the Parks MKE is giving gifts away for the seventh annual RBG Gift Must celebration. The group will meet at Sherman Park, 3000 N. Sherman Blvd., at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 24 to honor those killed in Milwaukee in 2021. Then the group will announce and head to the selected neighborhood from there. The neighborhood will not be announced ahead of time so as to remain a surprise.
