Radio Milwaukee (WYMS-88.9FM) will host its 15th birthday party on Saturday, Oct. 1 at its Walker’s Point studios, the station announced Tuesday.

The birthday party, beginning at 4 p.m., is free and open to the public, and will feature food and beverages from local food trucks, interactive entertainment and live music performances from an all-Milwaukee lineup of dark-pop duo You Win !!!, hip-hop artist Kia Rap Princess and reggaeton brothers Gego y Nony.

“We are so excited to be able to welcome the entire Radio Milwaukee community back into our Walker’s Point home for our first major event since early 2020,” said Dori Zori, 88Nine Program Director. “We’ve curated a lineup of Milwaukee musicians that represent the diversity in genre that our listeners love from both 88Nine and HYFIN. We can’t wait to have a big dance party and everyone’s invited!”

In addition to the lineup of Milwaukee artists, the party will feature DJ sets from Radio Milwaukee’s specialty programs, including “Rhythm Lab Radio,” which has been a part of the station’s programming since 2007.

“I’ve been fortunate to be a part of Radio Milwaukee since the beginning, and I was originally drawn to the station for its mission to be a catalyst for change not just in Milwaukee, but across the country,” said Tarik Moody, HYFIN Program Director. “I am thankful to have seen my show ‘Rhythm Lab Radio’ change the game in public radio and become a pilot for the Urban Alternative format that ultimately gave us our new channel, HYFIN. We have accomplished so much in 15 years and I know that this is just the beginning for our media organization.”

Music programming will take place in the station’s performance space and green rooftop. Lineups for both areas are as follows:

5 p.m. – You Win !!!
