MPS’ Reagan College Prep High School Huskies upset top-ranked Arrowhead High School Tuesday night to earn a spot in the WIAA state baseball tournament.
The 5-0 win came in a sectional final match, with the Huskies handing Arrowhead one of the only two losses the team had all season.
Reagan is the first MPS baseball team to make state since the Riverside University High School Tigers in 2009.
The Huskies will head to the Appleton area in one week to take on River Falls in the first round of the state tournament. The game is set for approximately 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 16 at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium, in Grand Chute, Wis., just outside of Appleton.
The team finished the regular season with a record of 17-7, including 11-1 in the City Conference. The Huskies’ overall record is 21-7 including postseason play.
