Community Supported Agriculture a growing trend, with local farms offering produce by subscription

A dozen local farms have been providing Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscriptions to individuals and families for years. For the 14th year, the Urban Ecology Center is hosting its Local Farmer Open House to connect individuals and companies with local farmers to create CSA partnerships for home and work. The event is free and open to the public.

WHAT: 14th Annual Local Farmer Open House

WHERE: Urban Ecology Center – Riverside Park
1500 E. Park Place, two blocks east of Oakland, Milwaukee

parking available in lot just southwest of UEC

WHEN: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 12

WHO: Individuals and families exploring CSA options

WHY:

Many local farmers who have been providing CSA subscriptions to individuals and families are seeing an increase in employers establishing CSA programs as part of their employee wellness programs. The Urban Ecology Center is dedicated to promoting community by offering resources that support environmentally responsible behaviors.
