More than 850 guests attended the Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation (MANDIs) dinner Wednesday night at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. Speakers included Mayor Tom Barrett, LISC CEO Michael Rubinger and Dawn Sanders Cavilla, who accepted an award on behalf of her late father, Welford Sanders.
The People’s Choice Award voting, housed on the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service website, drew 2,524 voters. All winners received a trophy and a $1,000 contribution. People’s Choice winners were COA Youth & Family Centers, Larry and Sharon Adams and Doors Open Milwaukee.
COA, ACTS Housing, St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care, Rodney Bourrage Sr., and Milwaukee County and its community partners also received awards.
