UMOS is currently recruiting qualified individuals interested in entry level general laborer positions within the Compete Milwaukee program.

Program participants will earn $10.69/hour for 40 hours a week, for up to six months of work experience.  Individuals who qualify should call Mr. Hector Lerma, form UMOS, at 389-6000.

Please find attached recruitment flyers for the Compete Milwaukee Program.  We encourage you to share this excellent opportunity with your networks and encourage qualified candidates to apply.

Compete Milwaukee is a partnership between the Mayor, Common Council, workforce development agencies and private employers, created in 2014, with the goal of connecting unemployed and underemployed Milwaukeeans with employment opportunities.

It accomplishes this by providing unemployed city residents temporary work in a variety of professional disciplines, while at the same time providing job readiness training, career counseling and ultimately, a pathway to family supporting employment.

Compete Milwaukee participants gain valuable and marketable work experiences on City of Milwaukee work sites, while receiving specialized industry recognized certifications and trainings through WRTP/BIG STEP.
