Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Darienne Driver, the Milwaukee Bucks, and Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin will host MPS students and families at Washington High School for a day of learning about the importance of health and wellness in schools and at home. The Milwaukee Bucks and Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin are sponsoring the event as part of their commitment to the health and wellness of Milwaukee families.

The Family Forum is Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – Noon at Washington High School of Information Technology, 2525 N. Sherman Blvd., Milwaukee WI 53210. Dr. Driver and Milwaukee Bucks Legend Vin Baker will start the festivities with special remarks. There will also be a resource fair for families from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.

Workshops will focus on asthma basics; medicine, mental hygiene and supportive services; healthy eating on a budget; and raising confident, competent children. This is the district’s third Family Forum of the school year, with three more planned this spring. All forums have child care available for children three and older. A free family lunch will be provided along with prizes and giveaways. Reservations can be made at mpsmke.com/familyforum.

Family Forums are full-day events that encourage learning, discussion and collaboration between MPS staff, families and the community. These events are planned in partnership with family representatives from the District Advisory Council and provide important information for students and families.
