The second annual gallery night hosted by the MCC Youth Development & Violence Free Zones programs focused on the theme of “light up the darkness.” Participating students displayed painting, photography and sculpture, and a number of students performed spoken word poetry or dance. The event took place at Kosciuszko Community Center, 2201 S. 7th St.

According to Daisy Del Aguila, a 15-year-old student at Veritas High School, students planned the event for months. “The project for me was about getting people together,” said Del Aguila.
