  • Saturday mornings at the We Got This garden on 9th and Ring St. started early this year, because young men from the neighborhood began showing up before the program officially launched.
  • The Nei Phi Neph "Fratority" perform cadences and drumline on Fond Du Lac and Burleigh.
  • The Hamilton family takes the stage at All People's Church to conclude Dontre Day.
  • Voces De La Frontera organized a massive May Day march, which started in Walker's Point and ended downtown.
  • Standing in front of the Washington Park Library, looking towards Sherman Boulevard.
  • Spring arrives in Kosciuszko Park.
  • A classic Milwaukee home in the Rufus King neighborhood.
  • Deconstruction work began as the America's Black Holocaust Museum prepares to return to its former site in a new building.
  • A mural depicting the history of UMOS was dedicated on 1st Street and Mitchell, created by lead artist Raoul Deal and a team of UW-Milwaukee students and high school interns from Artworks for Milwaukee.
  • A new sculpture — a project of Artists Working in Education, lead artist Mikal Floyd-Pruitt and youth program Our Next Generation — had its debut in the spring. It is located next to Amaranth Cafe.
  • The Sun Fair had another bustling year on Mitchell Street.
  • New Zenon Castillo vs. Goya Sazon mural, "Guardians of Graffiti Culture" on 14th & Vliet, part of the Visual Warfare 2017 series.
  • Young summer school students at Milwaukee Christian Center's program at Kosciuszko Park.
  • Soccer camp at COA Youth & Family Centers​.
  • Kitt's on a busy, beautiful summer night.
  • Venice Williams in Alice's Garden, showing a visiting group her crop of lovage.

With hot and humid days ahead, this photo gallery collects scenes of springtime in our many neighborhoods. From the blustery days of April to the blooms of May to the greens of June, this gallery takes a look back at the last few months in Milwaukee.
