  • The first new futsal court on the South Side
  • A new bridge will soon connect the fun happening at the new basketball court and playground.
  • Looks like a scene from the transformers movie
  • New trail of community
  • Community art benches still open to view the changes and take a rest
  • General Pulaski still standing at attention for the Pulaski Park neighborhood

In this photo gallery, Travis Hope of the KK River Neighbors in Action resident group revisits Pulaski Park to document his neighborhood park in the midst of major construction.

The first time I went with a camera and my daughter Iveliz to Pulaski Park in 2017 was to showcase the park and upcoming changes. This time, in late 2018, I want to show the changes.

Those changes have not been easy. They include the mass removal of trees, our basketball court and playground, as well as restricted access to the sledding hill and walking trails. Eventually, new trees will be planted and we will get a new basketball court, playground, bridge, futsal court and a more inviting riverfront with the rebirth of the river.

We look forward to the park being fully open, but in the meantime, across the street from the park on 16th down to 13th streets on Harrison is a new trail with artwork and community spaces for all to enjoy.

The KK River Neighbors In Action meet every second Wednesday of the month at the Pulaski Park pavilion

We would like to thank MMSD, Milwaukee County Parks and SSCHC Environmental department for making these changes come to life from community voices.
