Stressing the importance of offering nutritious meals to children during the summer months, Camp Umoja Summer Camp announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program.
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, provides nutritious meals to children during the summer, when free and reduced school meals are typically unavailable. Free meals will be made available to children 18 of age or under. Persons over 18 years of age who are determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled and who also participate in a public or private non-profit school program during the regular school year may receive free meals as well.
We plan to provide meals to children at the following location:

Meals are provided to eligible children regardless of race, color, national origin, age, gender or disability and there will be no discrimination in the course of meal service.
This is the third year that Camp Umoja is making the food on site. We are excited to provide quality food that kids want to eat and is good for them too. We are very fortunate to have a partnership with Feeding America. This reduces cost and waste.

Each site will serve breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 am and a lunch from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Meals for our program will be prepared in St. Marcus Kitchen. The feeding program will operate from June 17th through July 26th.
