Discovery World and USDA Forest Service partner to provide free community access on May 5

April 29, 2019 by Discovery World Leave a Comment

Discovery World will open its doors to the community on Sunday, May 5, offering free admission all day in partnership with the Forest Service.

Visitors of all ages are invited to join Woodsy Owl on Milwaukee’s lakefront to enjoy interactive exhibits, pet stingrays in the Reiman Aquarium, create nature-themed projects with the Kohl’s Design It! Lab, and participate in fishing tutorials courtesy of the Future Angler Foundation.

The partnership with Forest Service allows Discovery World to further its mission to provide fun and educational experiences through interactive exhibits and educational programs for families and students in Milwaukee, the region, and the state of Wisconsin.

“Discovery World is thrilled to open our doors for full a day of community access alongside our partners from the USDA Forest Service,” said Discovery World’s Paul Fladten. “It’s truly amazing to watch the passion and excitement for STEM education be unlocked on days like these where you’ll witness thousands of children touching lightning, virtually exploring new worlds, and discovering science in a way previously thought unimaginable.”

Access to Discovery World in partnership with the Forest Service generates excitement for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math for members of the community who need it most. This event is intended to provide a fun day of science in Milwaukee while igniting the spark for careers in the minds of children and young people, while playing a vital role in the workforce development pipeline.
