The extraordinary community development efforts by Milwaukee leaders, Sharon and Larry Adams, were highlighted by the CBS National Morning Show hosted by Gayle King on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 – and the story cast Milwaukee in a brilliant light. CBS Morning Show visited Milwaukee in May for the Adams Garden Park Groundbreaking event.

Adams Garden Park is the latest endeavor for the Adams, who are the retired Co-Founders of Walnut Way Conservation Corp.  The $1.2 million redevelopment project located in Lindsay Heights will be a vibrant hub for environmental organizations and helps strengthen the economic revitalization of Fond Du Lac Avenue.

Tenant partners will include the Milwaukee Environmental Consortium, Milwaukee Water Commons, Wisconsin Conservation Voters, and Walnut Way’s Blue Skies Landscaping Program. The project, scheduled to open in late Fall 2019, is 85% funded and has launched its final fundraising campaign to reach its goal by October 2019.

The project builds upon the Adams’ commitment to revitalizing Lindsay Heights, as highlighted in the CBS Morning Show.  The Adams humbly acknowledge that many hands and hearts are working to improve the community, as Sharon states, “We’re not the beginning…and we will not be the end.”

The story is a positive public image boost for Milwaukee, as it looks ahead to the Democratic National Convention in 2020. CBS Morning Show anchor, Gayle King and Tony Dokoupil close out the story in agreement, stating “I love Milwaukee already. It’s a great city.”
