In light of the recent developments and as a result of an abundance of caution regarding the COVID-19 virus, the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center’s (GLIIHC) April 3, 2020, Red Shawl Gala to honor Georgianna Ignace has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 10, 2020.

“The decision to reschedule the Red Shawl Gala was made to safeguard the health of our community and supporters throughout the region,’ said GLIIHC Chief Executive Officer Lyle Ignace, M.D., M.P.H.

“GLIIHC’s commitment to the community’s health, peace and well-being is our priority,” Dr. Ignace said. “I encourage everyone to follow the guidelines set forth by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS).” A link to Coronavirus updates can be found at: www.gliihc.net

Dr. Ignace, who apologized for any inconvenience to GLIIHC’s community and supporters, said staff will contact those who have already purchased tickets for the event to be held at the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino.
