Alderman Khalif J. Rainey invites residents to attend a Virtual Public Meeting this week regarding information on Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Awareness Day. The event will take place Friday, January 29, with 10 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm time slots, and is available to anyone interested in attending.
The meeting will primarily focus on sharing information about tax season tips, taxpayer assistance services, and other taxpayer benefits. Alderman Rainey encourages residents to attend these meetings and learn more about Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites which provide free tax preparation services to low to moderate income taxpayers, and pre-filing season tips to prevent refund delays. This years Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day aims to educate taxpayers on what services the IRS and its partners have to offer.
The meeting will be led by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Milwaukee Stakeholder Partnerships Education and Communication (SPEC) branch of the IRS.
