The Milwaukee Career & Employment Summit will feature:
- A community dialogue with workers who have overcome barriers to employment, employers who hire them, and representatives of organizations that foster success in the workplace
- A job fair with up to 30 employers with immediate job openings, including the Milwaukee Bucks, Advocate Aurora Health, and Harrigan Solutions
- Presentations on how to get into good careers, including in the construction trades
- Resource fair with 20 organizations that help people overcome barriers to employment, including attaining a high school diploma and driver’s license recovery.
The Milwaukee Career & Employment Summit is sponsored by KOHL’s. Community partners include: Employ Milwaukee, Coalition on Lead Emergency, MATC, MICAH, Milwaukee Transitional Jobs Collaborative, Project Return, Running Rebels, Urban Underground, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, US Department of Justice Eastern District of Wisconsin, US Probation and Pretrial Services Eastern District of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Community Services, and Community Advocates Public Policy Institute.
Jobseekers are invited to stop by the Milwaukee Career and Employment Summit between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, at Parklawn Assembly of God, 3725 N. Sherman Blvd., Milwaukee. A free lunch will be served and participants will be eligible for drawings for gift cards.
