Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs and Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II invite residents to attend the 11th Annual Housing Resource Fair taking place this Saturday, November 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s event will feature virtual workshops and an in-person resource packet pick-up at Northcott Neighborhood House, 2460 N. 6th St. The FREE event will provide residents with information on home financing, home repairs, foreclosure assistance and more.

The Housing Resource Fair includes four VIRTUAL workshops that are free and open to the public, including: COVID-19 Resources at 10:00 a.m.; Am I Ready to Buy a Home? – Determine Your Homebuyer Readiness at 11:00 a.m.; Home Repair – Resources and Helpful Tips for Selecting a Contractor at 12:00 p.m.; and Homes for Sale – Searching for a Home at 1 p.m. All of the virtual workshops will be viewable on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and online atwww.milwaukee.gov/Channel25. Each workshop will last approximately 30 minutes, and upon concluding there will be a live Q&A with the presenters. Those interested in participating in the live Q&A sessions after any of the workshops are encouraged to register here.

Alderwoman Coggs urges residents with housing needs or questions to attend the event. “This year we are once again working to make sure valuable housing resource information can be shared with residents in an easy and accessible manner to support those in need. The Housing Resource Fair is always a collaborative effort, and I want to thank all the partners who have helped make this year’s virtual resource fair a reality,” she said.

Alderman Stamper shares the sentiment. “Our goal is to reach our communities and I believe these resources are essential for neighbors and the City of Milwaukee as a whole. I am excited to continue this effort alongside community stakeholders and partner organizations,” he said.

Event sponsors include Alderwoman Coggs, Alderman Stamper, the Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation (NIDC), the City of Milwaukee, WestCare and Northcott Neighborhood House. In addition, to help support families during the holiday season, turkeys will be given away while supplies last. For more information, visit the NIDC website at www.city.milwaukee.gov/NIDC.
