It’s Friday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know.

1. COVID-19 tests limited availability this weekend: Ongoing
Increased demand has led to the City of Milwaukee Health Department’s COVID-19 testing locations expanding their hours recently, but these locations will be closed Saturday, Jan. 1 and Sunday, Jan. 2. For testing locations and their hours, go here.
2. Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve: Friday, Dec. 31
Bounce Milwaukee is hosting a family-friendly New Year’s Eve party from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Paid ticket include rock climbing, laser tag, food, family portrait and more.
3. Cosplayers Countdown 2022: Friday, Dec. 31
Battle Lounge hosts this New Year’s Eve cosplay party with karaoke, costume contest and more at 5419 W Lisbon Ave. This event starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31. Those in costume get in for free.
4. First Day of the Year Hike: Saturday, Jan. 1
Start the year off by walking in Hawthorn Glen, a nature and education center located at 1130 N. 60th St. The hike begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1. Click here to register. For more information, call 414-647-6050.
5. Yoga Fest: Saturday, Jan. 1
Milwaukee Recreation offers free yoga classes to start off your 2022 at Beulah Brinton Community Center, 2555 S. Bay St. Class size is limited ,and pre-registration is required. Bring your own yoga mat, water and towel. Face masks or face coverings are required. Register for classes, which begin at 9 a.m., here.
