2. Make snow art with the kids: Monday, Jan. 3

Looking for something to do with the kids? Check out activities at the Hawthorn Glen Outdoor Education Center, 1130 N. 60th St. Rent paint and toboggans from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, Monday, Jan. 17 and Feb. 14. Parent must attend with their child.

3. Premiere of “Toni Stone,” the first woman to play baseball n Negro Leagues: Tuesday, Jan. 4 to Jan. 30

The Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents “Toni Stone,” the story of the first woman to play professional baseball in the Negro Leagues. The play runs from Tuesday, Jan. 4 through Jan. 30. Tickets available for shows here. 

4. Engaging BIPOC youth in literature: Wednesday, Jan. 5

Teachers and tutors are welcomed as Milwaukee Public Library shares ways to infuse BIPOC authors and literature into a curriculum using LibraryNow. The virtual event runs from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5. You can register here.

5. Winter hiking in the Menomonee River Valley: All month
