The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently announced that adults age 50 and up are eligible for a second booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least four months after receiving their first booster shot.
Individuals who are age 12 and up and are immunocompromised also are eligible to receive their second booster shot.
Eligible patients are invited to obtain their second booster shots at the Findley Medical Clinic in Milwaukee at 10721 W. Capitol Drive, Suites 110 and 210. Patients will need to provide photo identification and their vaccination card, as well as their insurance card, if they have insurance.
The Findley Medical Clinic can provide second booster doses of both the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines.
“Based on an analysis of emerging data, a second booster dose of either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine could help increase protection levels for these higher-risk individuals,” Dr. Peter Marks, who directs the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said in a statement.
Dr. Stephanie Findley, board vice chair of the Findley Foundation and the Findley Medical Clinic, invites adults age 50 and up to receive their second booster shots. The Findley Medical Clinic is staffed by doctorate-prepared nurse practitioners who collaborate with the clinic’s medical director, a physician with extensive experience.
The Findley Medical Clinic accepts same-day appointments and scheduled routine care. The clinic is open Mondays through Saturdays by appointments. Walk-ins are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis on Fridays and Saturdays.
