Sweet Water (Southeastern Wisconsin Watersheds Trust, Inc), works to protect our water from stormwater pollution through public outreach and education. Stormwater is just what it sounds like- the water that results from rain, snow, and other kinds of storms. Stormwater problems range from the visible effects of flooding or drought to the more invisible effects of the introduction of pollutants into our rivers, ponds, and lakes– the sources of our drinking water. As stormwater flows through our neighborhoods toward these bodies of water, it picks up trash, pet waste, and chemicals, and other pollutants.
Because Milwaukee is fortunate enough to be in close proximity to the Great Lakes, it is important that we take care of our waterways. To learn more about stormwater pollution go to: https://www.respectourwaters.org/what-is-stormwater-pollution-swwt

Intrigued? Join Sweet Water and partners for a community event to discuss the effects of stormwater pollution on your neighborhood! This is an opportunity to help get the programming your community needs to be safer, healthier, and cleaner!
